Teaching

Students often tell me that my love for what I teach is obvious.  My role is to create an environment where students learn to access excellent information and research innovative approaches to making. Students learn the vital importance of circular design, crediting cultural achievements, removing colonial bias from analysis, and the difference between appropriation and amplification. Within this framework, I coach students to develop their own voice and style.

Over the past 15 years, I have designed and taught a range of courses including: visual culture, fashion history, textile structures, sustainable design, art and design history.

My students have garnered national and international recognition for their work, competing as finalists, winning prizes, and being featured in exhibitions and runway shows.
